President Donald Trump’s approval rating is now 43.1 percent — the highest it’s been since March 2017, according to the FiveThirtyEight average.
His disapproval rating is 52 percent. FiveThirtyEight noted Trump is still unpopular, but his approval rating is headed in the right direction.
But the website said Trump still remains less popular than average for a president. If his numbers stay the same through Election Day, he would be better only than Harry Truman in 1946, George W. Bush in 2006 and Barack Obama in 2014 for the comparable time period.
While Trump’s approval rating is up, Republican chances in the House are down, according to the website. Various models showed Republicans at or near their all-time lows, according to FiveThirtyEight. And one model showed GOP chances are down to 14 percent.
Data compiled by the website implies roughly a 10-point popular vote loss for the GOP given the president’s approval rating.
