President Donald Trump apparently couldn't help but joke again about seeking a third term in office.

In a Tuesday night tweet, the president posted a photo of someone holding up a sign calling for him to run again in 2024. The sign read: "Trump. Keep America Great! 2024."

It was the second time in two days the president had some fun with the idea. On Monday during a speech in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he playfully raised the idea about staying in office for "an extra term" so he would still be president when the U.S. hosts the 2026 FIFA Soccer World Cup, HuffPost reported.

But he quickly added: "No, no, I'm only kidding."

He then taunted the media by imagining headlines they would write about his remark, the website noted.

"Oh, they're going crazy," he said about the press. "They're going crazy. Tomorrow, you're going to see headlines, 'Trump wants an extra term. I told you. I told you. He wants an extra term, ladies and gentlemen. We told you. We told you he's a dictator. We told you.'"

Trump said last year he thought it was "great" that China's President Xi Jinping holds that office for life.

"He's now president for life," Trump said. "President for life.  I think it's great. Maybe we'll give that a shot someday."

But in an interview on "Meet the Press" in June, Trump said his remarks about a third term were jokes.
