Democrats have been "stuck in the mud" since President Donald Trump got elected, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's comments about him engaging in a coverup is "just a continuation," Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Thursday.
"They've refused to work with him at any level," McDaniel told Fox News' "America's Newsroom."
"We got the Mueller report, no collusion, no obstruction. Now they're saying let's reinvestigate again because we don't like the outcome."
Trump was also right to walk out of a planned White House meeting with Democrats to discuss infrastructure after Pelosi's comments shortly before the gathering.
"The president is right to say 'Nancy Pelosi, you can't go in front of the camera and accuse me of a coverup and behind the scenes say let's work together," she said."It's one or the other."
Democrats, she predicted, will go into 2020 with a "big giant goose egg" because they've done nothing for their constituents."
She also rejected claims that Trump has held Democratic leaders hostage on infrastructure, as he has "reached out his hand to Nancy Pelosi time and time again."
McDaniel added that she thinks people in her state are "exhausted" from Democrats.
"Now that Nancy Pelosi has taken the House, they see this lurch toward impeachment and seeing the radical lurch to the left," said McDaniel, "and they recognize their wages are up, that manufacturing jobs have come back to Michigan. They know the president has delivered on the promises he made and that's something that people hold near and dear."
