Trump: 'It's Ridiculous,' But I'll Answer Some of Mueller's Questions

(Fox News/"The Ingraham Angle")

President Donald Trump Monday night said he'll "probably" respond to some of special counsel Robert Mueller's questions, but finds it "ridiculous" that he should have to.

"I mean, it's ridiculous that I have to do anything, because we didn't do anything," the president told Fox News' Laura Ingraham on "The Ingraham Angle."

"But we will probably do something, yes, where we'll respond to some questions."

Ingraham did not push him further about what questions he'd be willing to address, but instead asked him how his wife is doing.

However, earlier on Monday, Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, told Bloomberg News that the president's legal team has already prepared written answers concerning several of the special counsel's questions, but said they won't be shared with Mueller until after next Tuesday's midterm elections.

He said the team only is providing answers concerning whether Trump colluded with Russia during his 2016 presidential campaign, but it is not willing to answer questions concerning whether Trump tried to obstruct the Mueller investigation.

Giuliani added that a Trump-Mueller face-to-face interview is "off the table" as of now, but has not been ruled out.

He called the questions that have already been received a "good sample," but acknowledged that there could be more questions and claimed the probe could end soon.

“We have an informal agreement that while negotiating the final details of a Q&A that we wouldn’t comment much, we have been sort of quiet,” Giuliani said. “But I expect a day after the election we will be in serious discussions with them again, and I have a feeling they want to get it wrapped up one way or another.”
