Trump Tower was evacuated late Tuesday afternoon because of a suspicious package that ended up being a bag of toys.
The Manhattan building that serves as the residence of President-elect Donald Trump was the scene of chaos of people were quickly ushered out sometime around 4:30 p.m. Trump is currently in Florida as he continues to prepare to take office in less than a month.
A Twitter user posted a video purportedly from Trump Tower that showed police urging people to hurry out of the building, which houses offices restaurants and shops.
According to a WABC report, however, the package in question ended up being a backpack stuffed with children's toys. The all-clear was given around 5 p.m.
A tweet by the New York City Police confirmed that the situation was safe and under control.
Federal and military authorities recently caused a stir in New York City because of low-flying aircraft, an exercise that was later revealed to be a practice run for evacuating Trump out of the city.
