Abraham Lincoln Statue Defaced in Chicago

An Abraham Lincoln statue in Chicago's Lincoln Park was vandalized with red spray paint in the early morning hours of Monday or late Sunday night.

The Chicago Police Department told Newsmax that the statue had been vandalized "in the overnight hours" by "at least one unknown offender."

Details regarding the matter are sparse.

Scrawled in red paint on the pedestal under the statue read the inscription "LINCOLN WAS AN EXECUTIONER." And on the concrete partition enveloping the staging of the statue, the vandal or vandals wrote "MAY ALL EMPIRES FALL FROM TURTLE ISLAND TO PALESTINE."

The Chicago Police Department said three detectives are investigating.
