The White House lockdown over a suspicious package has been lifted, the Secret Service says.

The agency ordered a "shelter in place" after a suspicious package was foundd on the grounds of the White House, the agency said Tuesday.

A man allegedly threw a "suspicious package" over the fence, calling it a "bomb."

Secret Service did not use the term "lockdown."
