President Donald Trump tweeted victory from an NBC News exit poll, highlighting the fact more Americans disapprove of "the so-called" special counsel Robert Mueller investigation than approve and ripping the "disgusting Witch Hunt, led by 17 Angry Democrats."

"According to NBC News, Voters Nationwide Disapprove of the so-called Mueller Investigation (46%) more than they Approve (41%)," President Trump tweeted. "You mean they are finally beginning to understand what a disgusting Witch Hunt, led by 17 Angry Democrats, is all about!"

President Trump was likely referring to the NBC News exit poll, which had the numbers close but not exact to his tweet.

The exit poll had 45 percent disapproving of Mueller's handling of the investigation and 42 percent approving.

The poll's results were far more pronounced between the parties, according to NBC News.

"There's a partisan divide — about six in 10 Democrats approve of Mueller's handling of the probe, compared to just two in 10 Republicans," NBC News wrote. "Independents are divided, with 43 percent approving and 42 percent disapproving."
