The United States must condemn a threat to isolate Israel from Europe if ongoing peace negotiations with the Palestinians fail, famed civil-rights lawyer Alan Dershowitz says.
"Every time there's a peace effort … number one, the radical Islamic jihadists, in this case, in Gaza, fire rockets to try to disturb the peace," Dershowitz told "The Steve Malzberg Show'' on Newsmax TV.
"And the attempts to isolate Israel increase … because the one thing Hamas terrorists and the academics on the hard left, in England and France, have in common is they both do not want peace.
"They want to see the end of Israel rather that a two-state solution."

Dershowitz, a veteran Harvard Law professor, said the U.S. condemn "those who conduct these isolation tactics."
On Monday, EU Ambassador to Israel Lars Faaborg-Andersen said in an interview on Israeli TV that Israel will face “increasing isolation” if its talks with the Palestinian Authority fail.
“If the talks are wrecked as a result of an Israeli settlement [construction] announcement, then the blame will be put squarely on Israel’s doorstep,” Faaborg-Andersen said.
On Thursday, Secretary of State John Kerry said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is wrong to insist Palestinians recognize Israel as Jewish state, but Dershowitz doesn't agree.
"It's not right for John Kerry, who's my friend, a longtime friend, to hold the Sword of Damocles over them. What John Kerry should have said is, and we will stand behind you if there are efforts to isolate you or to boycott you," Dershowitz said.
"And also there should be pressure on the Palestinians. The United States should say, look, we will put pressure on you, the Palestinians, if you don't make compromises. Both sides have to make compromises. You can't put all of the pressure on Israel."
