Dershowitz Blames Istanbul Attacks on UN and Groups That Glorify, 'Reward Terrorism'

Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax TV on Tuesday that the deadly Istanbul attacks can be blamed on the United Nations and other "organizations that reward terrorism."

"I can tell you with 100 percent certainty who's at fault for this — and that is the United Nations, various European countries like Italy and Germany, academics, who have glorified terrorism, who have rewarded terrorism, who have made terrorism pay, who have sent a message to terrorist groups that terrorism will work," Dershowitz, professor emeritus of the Harvard Law School, told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth.

"The responsibilities clearly pointed to those organizations headed by the United Nations that have made terrorism a tactic of choice for people who want to accomplish their goals."

Dershowitz, however, doubted that such known extremist groups as Hamas or Hezbollah played a role in the suicide bombs that have killed as many as 32 people and injured 88 others.

"It would shock me because Hamas has an open door to Turkey," he told Hayworth. "Hamas would be absolutely out of its mind to attack Turkey. Turkey is a great ally of Hamas.

"Turkey has said it would continue to support Hamas.

"More likely, this is a jihadist terrorist attack," Dershowitz said. "We have to point the finger of blame to where it actually belongs — and that is organizations that reward terrorism.

"The United Nations is top on that list, academics who glorify terrorism and the hard-left in general that supports terrorism and tells people, 'Use terrorism and we're on your side as long as you pick the right enemies.'"
