President Donald Trump would be better served by nominating a permanent attorney general instead of fighting Democrats over his temporary replacement for Jeff Sessions, Freedom Watch founder Larry Klayman told Newsmax TV.
Klayman was on Tuesday's "America Talks Live" and said Trump is fighting an unnecessary battle over Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker.
"The president should just eliminate this issue; there are other people that can be stepping in there," Klayman said. "That won't stop the Democrats from doing whatever they're doing, they're vicious.
"There's a lot of things going on, he doesn't need the aggravation with Whitaker right now. Just get somebody else in there. Whitaker's not a heavyweight anyway."

Klayman pointed to special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation as a major issue Trump is dealing with. The president is submitting written answers to questions Mueller's team sent him for the probe that began in May 2017 over claims the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Klayman said Trump's lawyers are giving him bad advice.
"The president's making a grave mistake in submitting written responses," Klayman said. "If he had even done an oral interview, which I was against . . . if he misspoke or wasn't exactly precise in his wording, he could have said that.
"But now he's gonna be fixed in stone to what his hapless lawyers have suggested that he do."
