Ben Stein: Sanders, Warren Pushed Dems to Far, Far Left

Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are responsible for turning the Democratic Party to the extreme left — and Warren for her part is a huge hypocrite for doing so, Ben Stein, tells Newsmax TV.

"The Democratic Party has been pushed farther and farther left. Why? I don't know what good it does them or anyone else. I do not know. It's certainly not good for the country. It's certainly not good for the world," Stein, the actor, author, economist and former speechwriter for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, said Friday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"I blame Sen. Sanders and I blame Sen. Warren. Sen. Warren, I think, must be the biggest hypocrite in the history of American politics. Second only to Mr. and Mrs. [Bill and Hillary] Clinton.

"To see Sen. Warren who gets huge amounts of money, $10,000 an hour for teaching at Harvard, money paid for by the corporate stocks, and to hear her blasting the corporation, is just astounding."

Stein, whose acting career includes parts in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Honeymoon in Vegas," is author of "How to Really Ruin Your Financial Life and Portfolio," published by Wiley.
