The New Black Panther Party's planned protest in Cleveland during next week's Republican National Convention aims to keep presumptive nominee Donald Trump from even taking the platform, but it is the New Black Panthers who shouldn't be listened to, former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik tells
Newsmax TV.
Former New Black Panther Party National Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz said last week the group will protest in Cleveland against police brutality and Donald Trump.
"I don't know what Donald Trump has to do with … police brutality, and I'm not sure how they relate one to the other," Kerik told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth on Monday. "The bottom line is if this group is anything like the Black Panthers of the past, there's going to be major problems."

Kerik pointed out that between 1960s through early '80s, the Black Panthers and Black Liberation Army "were responsible for dozens of law endorsement officers being assassinated, executed, if you will, in this country."
Kerik said he doesn't know much about the group except their violent and racial rhetoric.
"This is a political campaign," Kerik said of the convention. "Mr. Shabazz doesn't appear to be running for president, he doesn’t' have access or shouldn't have access to the mic in the first place. I think this is just more theater, if you will. It's pretty disgusting."
