Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik told Newsmax Tuesday that the Trump administration made a "common-sense move" to open temporary migrant housing at Guantanamo Bay for 30,000 as they await repatriation to their home countries.
"Common-sense move," Kerik said on "American Agenda."
"We need the space," he continued. "The president knows the space is there.
"Whether it's Guantanamo or other facilities around the country, we're going to need the space to house these people before we ship them back to where they came from, given that they shouldn't have been here in the first place. It's common sense."
Kerik added he believes Trump will look at other locations in addition to Guantanamo Bay to temporarily house migrants as they await a return to their home countries.
