Newsmax announced today that Bob Brooks has been named an anchor and correspondent for the Newsmax channel.
Brooks joins Newsmax from 6ABC Action News, Philadelphia's No. 1 rated news program, where he worked as a general reporter and anchor.
"Growing up in a small Pennsylvania town next to a family-owned farm to covering big stories in some of the nation's largest cities, Bob has developed a reporter's instinct about the news that's important to Americans," said Elliot Jacobson, executive vice president, programming at Newsmax.
Brooks also has served as a correspondent for South Florida's NBC 6 WTVJ in Miami. He began his career as a local reporter at another NBC affiliate, 18 News WETM in Elmira, New York.
Brooks has been in news for 13 years and has covered stories ranging from natural disasters to the recent Philadelphia riots and major presidential elections including the 2016 and 2020 races.
"I am glad to go national on a network like Newsmax, with a growing news brand and a team of talented professionals who care about news and the public's right to know," Brooks said.
Brooks went to Penn State University and was the winner of the Hearst Journalism award.
