Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told Newsmax TV on Tuesday that what Cambridge Analytica did with Facebook data "was a very standard practice," though the firm came aboard after he left the president's staff.
"I served as campaign manager for 18 months," Lewandowski told "Newsmax Now" guest host Kirsten Haglund." "During that time, I can tell you that Cambridge Analytica was not a vendor to the Trump campaign.
"They came in after I left."
Christopher Wylie, a self-described whistleblower at the company, told NBC's "Today" show Monday he had met with Lewandowski before the president declared his candidacy.
"I was not at the campaign when Cambridge Analytica was involved, Lewandowski reiterated, "but if anybody broke the rules, there will be accountability."
