Catholic League president Bill Donohue told Newsmax TV he initially gave Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton the benefit of the doubt when WikiLeaks emails surfaced of her now-campaign manager John Podesta plotting to oust him from his job – but no longer.
After having 24 hours to respond to the report, Clinton did nothing to denounce it, Donohue said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."
"At this point she owns it," he said. "This is Hillary's issue. This is her albatross. She has said absolutely nothing about John Podesta working for mutiny to sabotage the Catholic Church, a revolution from within."
Clinton, he said, is an "absolute disgrace" not just to Catholics, but to anyone.
"I would speak with just as much contempt if this was done about Jews or Muslims or Mormons or Protestants or any other religion," he said.

According to an email exchange between Podesta and others, Podesta takes credit for creating a group funded by billionaire George Soros that tried to get Donohue's group stripped of its tax-exempt status in 2008.
The ploy did not work, and Donohue told Malzberg he knew at the time Soros was behind the effort, but only learned about Podesta's role when he took credit in the hacked emails released by WikiLeaks on Wednesday.
