Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told Newsmax TV on Tuesday that he did not believe President Donald Trump would fire Russia special counsel Robert Mueller, but the probe has become a "multi-million-dollar, taxpayer-funded waste of money."
"I don't think the president is going to fire Bob Mueller," Lewandowski, chief strategist for the American First Action super PAC, told "Newsmax Now" guest host Kirsten Haglund in an interview.
"What I do think he is asking for is a definite date whereby Bob Mueller and his team need to come to a resolution."

Lewandowski said Mueller's investigators need to either "tell the American people — which we all know — that there was no collusion, no cooperation, no coordination with the Trump campaign and outside sources like the Russians.
"Or, that he has found something so profound that he needs to justify continuing this investigation," he said.
"What we are seeing now is a multi-million-dollar, taxpayer-funded waste of money, with something that doesn't seem to have a definitive end date.
"I do think the president has some concern about a special counsel gone awry."
Lewandowski added Trump should only answer written questions from the special counsel.
"I would suggest that he do that through interrogatories, or written questions that the Mueller team can submit to the Trump legal team," he told Haglund.
"They can answer those questions, to make sure they're precise — and they're returned to Bob Mueller in that fashion.
"What we've seen here is a special counsel that clearly is out of the scope of what was supposed to be their original jurisdiction."
