Rep. Meuser to Newsmax: Bidenomics 'Inverse' of Trump Wins

By    |   Thursday, 20 July 2023 09:55 AM EDT

Bidenomics is the "inverse" of how well the economy worked under former President Donald Trump, and even with inflation down since last summer, it's still not like it was in 2019 before the COVID pandemic, Rep. Dan Meuser told Newsmax on Thursday.

"We had minimal inflation," the Pennsylvania Republican said on Newsmax's "Wake Up America." "It wasn't even a factor."

He added that at that time, under Trump, the nation enjoyed some of the lowest interest rates, extremely low unemployment, and "all sectors of the economy were doing well."

"We had trade agreements," he said. "We had pro-growth initiatives. We had tax cuts. We had an incredibly robust economy."

But under President Joe Biden, the American people are continuing to see skyrocketing prices of food and energy, and Biden's policies are an "assault on American energy," said Meuser.

"In many ways, you could say that [they are] trying to kill the economy with these higher interest rates in order to save it, and that's insane," said Meuser, adding that with Trump, "we had growth initiatives, which benefits everything."

Meanwhile, energy policies under Biden have resulted in some "great issues," said Meuser.

"They've rattled our banks, our community banks, our regional banks," he said. "American energy companies can't get access to capital in order to increase capacity."

In addition, with Trump in office, the nation's debt service bill will be $250 billion, but with Biden, this year's bill is $645 billion higher, he added.

Meuser, also talked about the importance of his state of Pennsylvania in the upcoming presidential election, telling Newsmax that he believes Trump will be the GOP nominee.

"If we win Pennsylvania, we win the election," said Meuser. "[Trump] can certainly win as a pathway to win without winning Pennsylvania, but frankly, I'm going to be very dedicated to ensuring that Bidenomics ends at the end of the term of this current administration."
