Daniel Bongino: Crying Obama Uses Constitution for Kleenex

By    |   Tuesday, 05 January 2016 08:45 PM EST

President Barack Obama is focusing on expanded background checks for gun purchases only because it polls well with the public, but the executive actions he announced Tuesday will, in truth, expand the power of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, former Secret Service agent Daniel Bongino tells Newsmax TV.

"He's just lying to your face," Bongino said Tuesday on "Newsmax Prime." "You know I watched him cry, you know I cry watching our country being flushed down the toilet bowl by a president who has zero respect for the Constitution and uses it like a Kleenex."

Far leftists and moderate Republicans like the idea of government having more "discretion," he said, "because they like subjective government, government not held back by any objective rules. They like to rewrite the rules subjectively."

Obama's order gives the ATF discretion to determine who's the seller, he said.

"If you happen to sell a gun to some family member just because you need to get it off your farm or something, and the ATF determines the quote 'facts and circumstances make you a seller,' you can be locked up," he said. "They can also inspect your premises, you know that."

Social Security recipients who have someone else handling their finances also may be banned from buying a firearm, Bongino said.

"That's your benevolent president and his so-called background checks," he said. "He's full of it, and he knows it."

Pastor Aubrey Shines of Glory to Glory Ministries told host J.D. Hayworth that the background checks may prevent a parent from buying a gun if he or she has a child who is on medication for a disability.

"What we need to do is be honest," Shines said. "We need to allow the police to do their jobs, and this president is a failed president and … he's looking for a legacy because he doesn't have one. He has been a complete failure in everything that he has done."
