Dick Morris: Bill Clinton 'Tremendous Liability' for Hillary

By    |   Wednesday, 06 January 2016 05:18 PM EST

Former President Bill Clinton is now a liability to Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail because of the Bill Cosby scandal, political strategist Dick Morris told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.

"We have the publicity about sexual harassment and rape and all of the focus and exposure that it's had," Morris told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "The questions [Donald] Trump raised in response to Hillary's accusation that Trump was abusive to women.

"That's created an environment where Bill Clinton's a tremendous liability," he said. Morris is the co-author of The New York Times best-seller, "Power Grab: Obama’s Dangerous Plan for a One-Party Nation."

The age of many of today's voters is also working against Bill Clinton, Morris said.

"Voters who are now — what is it, 20, 40 years old or under — were not following politics during the Monica Lewinsky thing," he told Hayworth. "They were 10.

"These are people who are now for the first time learning about the negatives about Bill Clinton and [what those] negatives imply about Hillary.

"And as those become public, it's going to hurt Bill — and that'll hurt Hillary the closer she identifies with him."
