Gene Valentino, who is running for former Rep. Matt Gaetz's seat in the House, told Newsmax on Monday he supports the "Make America Great Again" agenda and will fight for Donald Trump's priorities.
Ten candidates will be on the ballot in the special election to fill Gaetz's seat as voters go to the polls Jan. 28.
Valentino began his interview with "The Chris Salcedo Show," stating he is a believer in term limits, would only run for "three terms," and supports the "MAGA agenda."
Valentino, a former Escambia County, Florida, commissioner says he's not a career politician and he's in the mold of people like Trump and Elon Musk.
Valentino has run several successful businesses and was the founding CEO of Cellular One, the pioneering cell phone company.
Valentino also has the endorsement of Trump border czar Tom Homan, and said he's going to make illegals a major issue in Congress.
"We're going to step up and make sure that agenda is met," Valentino said. "The immigration issue, the 15 million illegals, the terrorists, the undocumented terrorists, all the issues on the federal level, the defunding national education and allowing it to transcend to the state and local levels is essential for quality education."
Valentino has chided candidate Jimmy Patronis, the former state CFO, for not having lived in the district.
"It's difficult to imagine the CFO who failed handling the insurance crisis would want to represent a district he doesn't even live in," Valentino said.
