Former President Donald Trump will be the keynote speaker next month at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) event in Washington, D.C., Mercedes Schlapp, a senior fellow for the American Conservative Union, announced Friday on Newsmax.
"CPAC is honored to host President Trump," Schlapp said on Newsmax's "National Report." "He's beloved by the grassroots across the country, and it's an honor to have him come speak."
CPAC will be held on Feb. 21-24, wrapping up on the same day of the South Carolina Republican primary, Schlapp said, noting that Trump is the front-runner in the race for the Republican nomination and is "ready to take on Joe Biden in a general election."
The event will allow Trump to "bring up these important topics that Americans feel less safe, less secure under Joe Biden," she added.
The former president is a frequent speaker at CPAC events, and Schlapp said the organization is "honored to have President Trump come back, as we say, to his CPAC family, those who go out and help him in this upcoming election in 2024."
