Dick Morris: Trump Won't Spend $20 Million to Win Nomination

Donald Trump may well need to spend $20 million to win the Republican presidential nomination, but don't bet on it, political strategist Dick Morris told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.

"I would hesitate to make that prediction now," Morris told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "There's a vast difference between beating Trump at the convention and beating him in the primaries.

"One is an active theft, the other is an active democracy."

Morris said he was not worried about other names coming up during a contested Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July because of a rule that only allows candidates who have won a majority of delegates in eight states on the ballot.

"The convention is going to be all Trump and Cruz delegates," Morris told Hayworth. "They're the ones who would have to vote to approve the rule of change — and they certainly would not."
