Pollster Larry Sabato told Newsmax TV on Thursday he had "no confidence" in the 100-day deadline imposed on presidents "because historians benefit from it" and "the media generally benefit from it."
"It gives them an artificial deadline to lead up to," Sabato, director of the University of Virginia's Center for Politics, told host Steve Malzberg on Facebook Live.
"They have counters on screen – and they're pushing administrations to do things almost too quickly.
"That's what I think is unwise about it.
"Good legislation, good decisions take time," he said.
"It's a shame that administrations are pushed to do lots of things without proper thought because of this 100-day deadline – and they want to have a long list to show people."
