U.S. sanctions on North Korea are being openly violated by not only China, but Russia and South Korea as well, The Daily Beast's Gordon Chang told Newsmax TV on Thursday.
"The Chinese over a long period of time have not been helping" the relationship between the U.S. and North Korea, Chang told Thursday's "America Talks Live."
"They've been openly violating sanctions, and they've been encouraging [North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un] to do the same, to basically not come to terms with the United States."

He adds China and Russia are both violating sanctions, "and the bad story here is we always knew the Chinese and the Russians were villains, but now they are being so open in their villainy that the South Koreans think they can get away with it too."
Chang credits this attitude to South Korean President "Moon Jae-in, who wants to help North Korea, and he thinks it's open season on U.S. sanctions."
Chang added later "it's not only North Korea's weapons programs that are important, it's the fact that North Korea has not reduced its conventional military threat against South Korea. In just north of the border, they've got 14,300 artillery tubes, which they can put in high explosives and chemical and biological agents and kill millions of people. And so the North Koreans have continued with their summer training cycle," while the United States skipped its own training exercise this month.
"Our readiness is eroding," Chang said. "These are separate issues, and I wish the president would keep them separate, because we always have to remember that North Korea has, regardless of its nuke program, always had the ability to invade the south and create enormous casualties."
