By    |   Friday, 19 September 2014 04:01 PM EDT

The battle against the Islamic State (ISIS), unlike other wars, may not have a definitive ending, says Jay Sekulow, chief counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice.

"This is not a war where there's going to be a beginning and an end. We're going to have to be doing this for a long time," Sekulow said Friday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Sekulow — author of "Rise of ISIS: A Threat We Can't Ignore," written with Jordan Sekulow, Robert Ash, and David French, and published by Howards Books, — added:

"Radical jihad is a growing branch of Islam. We can put our heads in the sand and ignore it, but this is not a war against the enemies of Islam. This is an Islamic war brought to us."
