Ivanka Trump has progressive goals and interests "with a business angle to them" that are likely to influence the Trump administration, television host and commentator Sharyl Attkisson told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.
The "Full Measure" host and author of "The Smear," told host Steve Malzberg her sit-down with President Donald Trump's daughter revealed someone "quiet, understated in person."
"I get the sense, if you have to label it, that a lot of her goals and special interests would be more progressive than not," Attkisson said. "But with a business angle to them and with practicality and cost in mind as well. And I do think she will have some influence."
"I do think she will have influence on the things she cares about, including things like the paid family leave and things that affect women and children and the things that liberals should actually like quite a bit," Attkisson added, chiding liberals for not wanting to "say they like anything about the Trump administration."

Attkisson also predicted the White House adviser's paid family leave proposal could make it through Congress.
"After doing stories lately – there's another one coming up in the fall – and I've done two in the past interviewing current and recently former members of Congress who are blowing the whistle on themselves and saying we will never cut spending," she said.
"We will always add spending. We are very much in line with Democrats behind the scenes on a lot of these things," she added.
"So I think something like that actually could get passed depending on how it's crafted and who benefits from it or . . . what special interest end up writing provisions into the bill that benefit them. Then, I think, yes, it could get passed."
