Comer to Newsmax: Hunter's Art Dealer Reveals More WH Lies

By    |   Tuesday, 09 January 2024 10:59 PM EST

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., leading the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, told Newsmax on Tuesday that testimony from Hunter Biden's art dealer showed he had no contact with the White House about ethical guidelines, even though the White House said publicly they were put in place.

The art dealer, George Berges, also testified Tuesday in front of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, which Comer chairs, that Hunter Biden knew the identities of 70% of those who purchased the art, even though the White House had said the president's son wouldn't be told who bought his art.

Former White House press secretary "Jen Psaki went to the podium at a [July 2021] press conference and told the American people that they had put in place guidelines to ensure that no ethics lines would be crossed," Comer told "Eric Bolling The Balance." "But what we heard today when we brought Berges in … he said he has never communicated with anyone from the White House. He doesn't know anything about any ethics [guidelines].

"This is another example of the White House lying to the American people about the shady business schemes of the Bidens."

The Oversight Committee said in a news release Tuesday the majority of the art was bought by Democrat donors, naming Kevin Morris and Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali. Morris is a lawyer and writer and reportedly one of Hunter Biden's closest confidantes, and the committee said he purchased the majority of Hunter Biden's art in January 2023 for $875,000.

Comer said as more is uncovered about the Bidens during the investigation, now in its deposition phase, the committee is learning two things:

"No. 1, they're selling access to influential people, as well as bad people and bad countries," Comer said. "We don't know what those people are getting in return. [No. 2], we also know that Joe Biden has not been truthful about any aspect.

"We're going to bring in more people, but every time we interview someone, every time we get a new batch of bank records, every time we get access to more emails, we find more lies by this White House, more lies by the Bidens, and more ethics violations by the Biden family."
