Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson told Newsmax on Tuesday that the real story behind Jan. 6th hasn't even begun to be told.
The senator, while speaking to "The Chris Salcedo Show," says, "I've been saying for quite some time, 'the full story of Jan. 6th hasn't even begun to be told. The hearings the Senate held under Democrat control were a farce. Certainly, the Jan. 6th Committee of the Democrats was a farce. Now that the Republican-led "House is investigating this, evidence from the Jan. 6th Democrat Committee is going missing."
As evidence continues to pour out of the House, such as the release of Jan. 6th footage from the House, presidential candidates are also offering their two cents as to what really happened that day.
During a CNN Town Hall on Dec. 13, presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy tried to address a question about Jan. 6 but was interrupted by host Abby Phillip when he mentioned, "We know that there were federal law enforcement agents" present at the Capitol that day.
On the other hand, Nikki Haley has described Jan. 6 as a "terrible day" and criticized former President Donald Trump for not doing enough to stop it. Haley told CNN at a town hall in June that Trump "thinks it was a beautiful day; I think it was a terrible day. I'll always stand by that."
Meanwhile, former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, who was present that day, told Tucker Carlson that the intelligence he was receiving indicated "this was going to be just like the previous MAGA rallies."
But "we now know the FBI, DHS, was swimming in that intelligence. We also know now that the military seem to have some very concerning intelligence as well."
Johnson concluded in his interview that "the Deep State does not give up its secrets easily."
