Jesse Lee Peterson on Ferguson: Thug Hailed as Hero 'Unheard Of'

Tuesday, 25 November 2014 05:57 PM EST

Justice was served in Ferguson, Missouri, but the liberal media and leftist community leaders won't admit it, says the Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, president and founder of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny.

"The liars, the left, they don't want to tell the truth, because if they told the truth, then other black Americans may wake up and start thinking and doing for themselves and it would put the race hustlers out of business," Peterson said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"So, they're not going to tell the truth, and some of those on the right won't tell the truth . . . who are afraid to speak the truth because they don't want to be called racist or they don't want to be threatened.

"I can't believe, man, that we have a thug that's being hailed as a hero who attacked a police officer. That is unheard of in America."

Peterson, host of a syndicated radio program, "The Jesse Lee Peterson Show," said he was gratified when he heard that the grand jury would not indict police officer Darren Wilson, who is white, in the shooting death of young black man Michael Brown, 18.

"I saw justice served in America, and I was happy about that because I was very concerned that because of the threats of violence and things like that over the last few months, that the white part of the jury would be afraid to not indict officer Wilson," Peterson said.

"But I'm glad they were not afraid. So, I was happy to see that."

He blamed the aftermath — rioting and looting and torching of businesses — on President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, the Revs. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and T.D. Jakes, and the son of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

"They have not repudiated their folks for acting out, they are acting as though Michael Brown, who was a thug, was some little innocent guy . . . and white officer Wilson had nothing else to do but to go and kill him," Peterson said.

"The facts are that Michael Brown was a thug, he attacked the owner of a store after robbing his store, so he was a felon because he used force for that. Michael Brown was not some innocent guy."
