Rep. Jim Jordan to Newsmax TV: China's Running WHO

(Newsmax TV/"Greg Kelly Reports")

By    |   Tuesday, 14 April 2020 08:37 PM EDT

President Donald Trump should be applauded for withholding money from the World Health Organization, which kept the truth about China being the origin of coronavirus, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio told Newsmax TV.

"We're not going to pay organizations to lie to us. They'll probably do that for free," Jordan said on Tuesday's "Greg Kelly Reports." "If you're going to lie to us, we're not going to give you the hard-earned tax dollars of the American people, especially when you were lying to us about China, where this thing started."

Jordan added: "China didn't tell us what was going on. They didn't try to stop this thing in their tracks like they should've. So, of course, this is the right decision, and I think so many Americans are applauding the president for this decision and a host of others he's made in the last three and a half years."

On Tuesday, the president halted funding to the WHO while the organization's coronavirus pandemic response is being reviewed.

Jordan said the WHO receives roughly $500 million, so the United States is obligated to hold the organization accountable.

When asked why the WHO has such an anti-American bias, Jordan said: "People who don't appreciate freedom, who don't appreciate liberty, always want to go after the United States,"
