Answering the decades-old mystery of who really assassinated President John F. Kennedy, the explosive documentary "I Killed JFK" features a shocking confession from the man who claims to be the killer.
The one-hour documentary airs on Newsmax TV on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m./ET.
The chilling documentary is part of a seven-hour marathon of programming exploring Kennedy's life and legacy on the 52 anniversary of his shocking assassination in Dallas.
Produced by Barry Katz Entertainment, "I Killed JFK" offers never-before seen footage of the confessed killer, Mafia hit man James Files, who says he worked along with major mob figures and fired the shot that killed Kennedy from the grassy knoll at Dealey Plaza in Dallas.
The film presents compelling forensic and eyewitness evidence, previously unavailable to the public, supporting Files' contention that he, and not Lee Harvey Oswald, fired the fatal shot at America's 35th president.
"I squeezed off my round. I hit him and blew his head backward," Files says of the single shot he fired on that fateful day.
Executive Producer Barry Katz says: "Until now, no one has ever confessed to the murder of JFK, and most people still believe that Lee Harvey Oswald was the killer."
Files, who changed his name from Jimmy Sutton, was born in 1942 and after a stint in the Army became associated with both the Chicago mob and the CIA.
He worked under mobster Charles "Chuckie" Nicoletti, an underling of mob boss Sam Giancana. Giancana and other mobsters had been angered by the president's brother, Robert, who as U.S. attorney general was targeting organized crime in a major prosecution effort.
Files was convicted of the attempted murder of two police officers during a roadside shootout in 1991 and sentenced to 50 years in prison.
The documentary adds to the diverse programming featured on Newsmax TV, America's fast-growing news and information channel, carried in more than 40 million U.S. satellite and cable homes.
With compelling original shows such as "Newsmax Prime," "The Hard Line" and "The Steve Malzberg Show," Newsmax TV has become the nation's must-watch news, lifestyle and information channel.
