Donald Trump's attacks on the Republican Party's delegate process is merely a "game … that the Trump people are playing, trying to shift the goal line," former White House Chief of Staff John Sununu told
Newsmax TV on Thursday.
"It’s ridiculous," the former New Hampshire governor told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "They're trying to claim they didn't understand the rules.
"They're trying to claim that the process is rigged," he added. "They're trying to denigrate the Republican Party in their effort to bully, if you will, the delegates into doing something that most of the delegates right now are still evaluating."

To win the nomination, Trump would need to have 1,237 delegates by the time he reaches the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July.
Heading into the New York primary on Tuesday, Trump has 743 delegates, compared with 545 for Ted Cruz and 143 for John Kasich.
The Empire State has 95 delegates up for grabs in their GOP primary.
"This has a long way to go — and it's not any different than the rule structure that we've dealt with over the years," Sununu said.
