Donald Trump may or may not be unstoppable as the Republican presidential nominee, but he is definitely "unstopped" so far, pollster John Zogby tells
Newsmax TV.
"The events in Paris were just so horrific and so close to home for us that he is the man of the moment, at least, and at a time when you thought, well, he might start to fade," Zogby said Monday on "Newsmax Prime. "He is clear, he's direct and focused."
The economy and terrorism are keeping Trump on top, and may continue to do so until Election Day, and they might continue to do so barring some unforeseen event, Zogby said.
"Remember, we're only nine weeks away now from Iowa," he said. "So these two issues may carry us into Iowa. From there, it's a sequential process.
Earlier on "The Steve Malzberg Show," Zogby said it is too soon to use the word "unstoppable," but Trump is "unstopped" so far.
"The horrible events in Paris have certainly assisted him because of the tough talk, the trash talk. In some instances, even the irresponsible talk," he said, "but he's got his base and that seems to be defined and he may have more staying power than I certainly thought that he would have. "

Meanwhile, Trump's main challenger, Ben Carson, is losing evangelical voters to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
"I've said this would happen, Carson would fade, because really there's no there or there," Zogby said on "Newsmax Prime." "There is a there with Ted Cruz and there's also an organization, an awful lot of money as well, and arguably the smartest candidate in the field."
Nothing Trump says or nothing said about Trump is affecting him, Zobgy said.
"It's all a question right now of Trump getting bored, somehow not getting enough attention at some point or just deciding, 'Hey, this isn't something I want to do,'" Zogby said.
