Hillary Clinton has the right to keep her private emails private — and most Americans would agree with that, says Lanny Davis, the former special counsel to President Bill Clinton.
And Davis believes the former secretary of state has complied more readily in delivering emails for inspection than former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who took years to turn his over.

"She turned over 55,000 pages and asked that they be published, which is more than Governor Jeb Bush did, more than Congressman Trey Gowdy will do if he's asked to turn over emails ...
"I do know that most Americans who aren't partisan Republicans trying to score political points would say that Jeb Bush and she both have a right to the privacy of their own private emails."
Gowdy — who chairs the House select committee probing Benghazi, which occurred under Clinton's watch — has ordered her to testify. Questions are expected to broach her use of a private email account and home server.

"If she asked my advice, I would say, absolutely not, because Congressman Gowdy could care less about a serious investigation. This is all about politics."
His advice came as the Associated Press reported Clinton emailed her staff on an iPad as well as a BlackBerry while secretary of state, despite her explanation she exclusively used a personal email address on a home server so she could carry a single device.
