Radio personality and Newsmax contributor Larry Elder says that unlike President Barack Obama, he thinks the United States is losing the battle against the Islamic State (ISIS).
"I don't know what war Obama's talking about. It looks to me like we're losing it," Elder said Friday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.
"Richard Engel is a war correspondent for NBC, not exactly a neocon, and he says that without boots on the ground, sufficient boots on the ground, he doesn't see how we can win this, and that's been echoed by a number of other experts as well."

Elder — host of the syndicated radio program "The Larry Elder Show" and author of
"Dear Father, Dear Son: Two Lives... Eight Hours," published by WND Books — was reacting to an interview in The Atlantic this week in which Obama said, "I don't think we're losing."
Elder says that is doubtful, with the turn of events that has occurred in Iraq in the past week, with ISIS capturing the key city of Ramadi. On Friday, the Islamic extremist group took control of the nearby town of Husayba.
"I haven't been impressed with the expertise of the regional allies that we supposedly have," Elder said.
"I don't see how this is going to be a successful deal until and unless we put sufficient boots on the ground."
How would Elder proceed? By bringing in top military minds like David Petraeus, former director of the CIA and retired four star Army general.
"[I'd] put them in a room and say win this thing for us the way you turned around Iraq with the surge, and let's figure out what we're going to do," Elder said.
