The Justice Department's conclusion former FBI Director James Comey deviated from protocol but was not motivated by political bias in the handling of a probe into Hillary Clinton's email server is a "cover-up," former federal prosecutor Larry Klayman charged Thursday.
"No surprises here," Klayman, founder of the government watchdog Freedom Watch, said in an interview with Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live."
"It is a cover-up, that's what it is. I predicted it, I predicted it would be whitewashed, my words exactly."

In a report, portions of which were made public Thursday, Inspector General Michael Horowitz found Comey "deviated" from FBI and Justice Department procedures in handling Clinton probe, damaging the agencies' image of impartiality. But he also ruled politics were not a motive.
Klayman believes Attorney General Jeff Sessions did not want to rock the boat by criticizing his own department.
"Sessions is under investigation himself . . . by [special counsel Robert] Mueller. He's frightened of his shadow. . . . He's part of the Deep State, he's a politician, and the Justice Department is obviously going to protect itself," Klayman told Newsmax hosts Miranda Khan, John Cardillo, and Gina Loudon.
"So, all he was doing in this IG report was letting off some steam, some pressure for him not doing anything."
