The Democrats' idea of "unity" is get everyone to join them in how they think, or you will "get canceled out," according to Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., on Newsmax TV.
"They want absolutely power," Zeldin told Tuesday's "Spicer & Co." "Not only do they want you to agree with them on their policy goals, they are also demanding that you think the way that they do, and in many cases you'll get canceled out if you don't."
Unity has been a frequent message of President-elect Joe Biden as he prepares to take office Wednesday, but it has come amid House Democrats – and 10 Republicans – impeaching their political rival, cancel culture, and vows to completely undo anything President Donald Trump has done.
"Democrats don't understand what their mandate is coming off the November election," Zeldin told host Sean Spicer, pointing specifically to Biden's plan to grant citizenship to illegal immigrants. "It's some kind of mandate to not care about border security, interior enforcement.
"They're acting like they have a mandate to do the whole darn thing, and I think they're misjudging where America is."
Zeldin noted Democrats who impose their political will at all costs are going to effectively further split a divided America/
"Trump voters back in some of those districts are infuriated at how they've been sold out," Zeldin said of House Democrats in Trump districts that voted to impeach the president on the way out of office.
