Rep. Debbie Lesko of Arizona told Newsmax TV on Tuesday that Dominion Voting Systems and other ballot counting companies will have to be investigated if the public is ever to trust the outcome of elections, and that will only happen if Republicans retain control of the U.S. Senate.
Lesko, speaking on “American Agenda,” said scrutiny will be key in regaining trust after accusations of fraud and other illegality in an election where 79% of Republicans reportedly believe the election was “stolen through illegal voting and fraud.”
“I think there needs to be a full investigation of the voting software, whether it be Dominion Voting machines or other voting machines so that the public has total trust in it,” said Lesko, 62, whose 8th Congressional District in Arizona is comprised of Glendale, Sun City and western Phoenix. “Now whether that happens or not, I think depends on what the election results will be in Georgia.
“I don’t know that the Democrats are going to do any investigation because their person won and so they probably don’t care. In the Senate, if we keep Republican control then of course investigations can still be done in committee hearings if the judiciary committee is under Republican control and other committees. If Biden is sworn as president, we have to make sure that Georgia – at least one of those two Republican senators win so that Republicans gain control.”
Lesko, who won her second full term in the House of Representatives on Nov. 3, referred to the results in the elections for U.S. Senate in Georgia. Both races are headed for Jan. 5 runoffs after no candidate in either race achieved more than 50% of the vote. Incumbent Republican David Perdue was only a few thousand votes short of the needed number in a three-way race with Democrat Jon Ossoff.
In a special election to fill the remaining term of Johnny Isakson who retired, Raphael Warnock led Kelly Loeffler 32.9%-25.91%. But Loeffler and fellow Republican Doug Collins plus four other Republicans in a race with 20 candidates received a combined 49.3% of the vote compared to about 48.4% for Warnock and the next seven Democrats.
