Rep. Blaine Leutkemeyer, R-Mo., says President Joe Biden’s first week looks like the Obama administration 2.0 on steroids.
Since entering office on Jan. 20, Biden has signed more than three dozen executive orders addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, economy, immigration, climate crisis and more. His cancellation of the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline will result in approximately 1,000 lost jobs.
Former President Donald Trump issued just four executive actions in his first week and predecessor Barack Obama five.
''I was there during the eight years of the Obama administration. I remember watching them run roughshod over us in '09 and '10 and living the last six years of the Obama administration with all the rules and regulations that came out of the bureaucracy and them having figured out toward the end that they can actually become legislators through the bureaucratic process of rulemaking and enforcing guidance,'' Leutkemeyer said Thursday during an appearance on Newsmax TV’s ''Spicer & Co.''
''It looks to me like this is the Obama administration 2.0 on steroids and we’ve got to be sure and watch this, point it out and push back where we can because our small businesses — the drivers of our economy — are at risk here and with the lockdowns we’ve had a lot of them are struggling to begin with and this is just going to put a lot more of them out of business.''
