Rep. Mark Harris, R-N.C., told Newsmax on Wednesday that he is grateful President Donald Trump is keeping with his campaign promise of two years ago by issuing an executive order to "stop the mutilation" of children in the U.S.
On Tuesday Trump issued an executive order to "protect children from chemical and surgical mutilation," writing, "The blatant harm done to children by chemical and surgical mutilation cloaks itself in medical necessity, spurred by guidance from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), which lacks scientific integrity."
Harris said Trump stayed true to his word to "stop the harming of our children across the country."
"We've seen a number of states across this country, legislatures that have taken action to try to protect children from this harmful act. And I'm just very, very gratified to see the president stepping up and saying that we're going to cut off all federal money to these organizations and institutions that are a part of this enterprise that is truly harming the children in this country," Harris said during an appearance on "The Chris Salcedo Show."
