Donald Trump is a "real" presidential candidate and has sparked important discussions of the issues important to Americans, Rep. Marsha Blackburn tells
Newsmax TV.
"People are talking … because Trump has said, 'Wait a minute, the national security issue is at the top of the heap. The Iran deal is a bad deal. China debt, it's a bad deal. Having the anchor-baby issue continue, bad deal. Not securing our border, that's a bad deal,"' Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican, said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."
"I am so pleased that people are talking about it and that's one of the things that's been done right through this campaign is elevating the issues and bringing them forward so that people are talking about solutions."

Asked by Steve Malzberg about the billionaire developer's chances of winning the GOP presidential nomination, Blackburn said: "Trump is very much for real. The other candidates are real."
In recent polls, Trump remains the front-runner in the GOP pool of 17 candidates.
