Marco Rubio must be in the Florida primary next week or he will be out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination, pollster Matt Towery told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.

"It is down, as they say in the South, to the lick-log," Towery told host Ed Berliner on Newsmax TV's "America Votes: 2016" in an interview. "Florida or bust.

"Donald Trump is going to be the nominee of the Republican Party if he wins the Florida primary. It's that simple, because the primaries that follow — Arizona, New York, several of which are winner-take-all or hybrids — are going to go for Trump."

He told Berliner that "Trump's numbers are expanding in Florida. Not going down.

"On top of that, the Mitt Romney phone calls in Florida … hurt the cause of trying to stop Trump rather than helping it.

"I know those concerns these people are raising, but that's like dancing on the head of a pen right now," Towery said of the front-runner's success. "This is a tsunami going on."
