The reports President Donald Trump blew up at his chief campaign manager Brad Parscale over low poll numbers are "completely off," campaign adviser Mercedes Schlapp told Newsmax TV.
"The president and Brad Parscale didn't even talk about polls, in any way," Schlaap told Thursday's "Greg Kelly Reports." "So, let's just start by saying that the reporting is just completely off. It's out of context."
The president has denied a Wednesday report from CNN, based on anonymous sources, that he lashed out at Parscale after poll numbers showed Trump was losing to Biden in a few key states.
Schlapp is assured the relationship between the two could not be better.
"There's no space between them," she said. "They work hand and hand. They work on creating ads that are going to be coming out soon, in the next couple of weeks. They focus on what efforts we need to make, what grassroots we need to put in place to ensure we're ready to win in November."
Schlapp added: "They have a great relationship. They're very tight. They talk all the time, and the president has confidence in Brad and the great work that he's doing with our campaign right now."
Schlapp also talked about reporters who would ignore her comments and publish more sensational quotes from anonymous sources during her time working at the White House working as the director of communication strategies.
"I'm not a big fan of anonymous sources, especially those who are trying to hurt the president," Schlapp said. "It just shows that there's a complete bias when it comes to some of these media outlets, more focused on basically shaping their stories the way they want to shape their stories."
