President Donald Trump's order to boot the majority of undocumented immigrants from the United States is a "common sense" move that will help make the nation safer, Michael Cutler, a former special agent with the Immigration and Naturalization Service, tells Newsmax TV.
"I'm ecstatic. He wants to triple the number of ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] agents," Cutler said Friday to Bill Tucker on "America Talks Live."
"He also has made it clear that there's no such thing as a protected illegal alien. Under the Obama administration, if an agent encountered and arrested quote on quote the wrong illegal alien, they could've been suspended or had other adverse action taken against them.
"There's no such thing as the wrong illegal alien just as there's no such thing as the wrong speeder getting pulled over by the police. So what he president has said is there are no protected categories of illegal aliens, they're all fair game, we're going to focus on criminals."

Cutler said that in the 1980s, he had recommended to then-Sen. Al D'Amato of New York the creation of an "aggravated felon re-entry law" that makes unlawful reentry by criminal aliens a felony with a maximum of 20 years in jail upon conviction.
"But I said don't ignore collateral arrest because by randomness, and that's a valid criminal logical concept. You're going to trip over bad guys and terror plots just by being out there because we don't know who all the bad guys are," Cutler told Tucker.
"We may have a terror watch list but unlike Saint Peter and Santa Claus, our list aren't nearly as comprehensive, that's item one. Item two what they're doing, and I love it, is they're going to prosecute parents who use smugglers to bring minor children into the United States.
"Imagine turning over your 10-year-old kid to an alien smuggler, and these people are among the most pernicious, violent and sociopathic criminals that I've ever encountered in my 30-year law enforcement career, so finally common sense is the order of the day with the Trump administration."
Cutler believes "both sides of the political aisle" have failed to enforce the immigration laws within the United States, something he believes will change under Trump's guidance.
"Finally we have a president who understands it and is taking meaningful action to address that failure," he said.
