Republicans must repeal and replace Obamacare quickly — in days, not years, political commentators Michael Reagan and Betsy McCaughey told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.
"They should not have a bill that sunsets in two or three years that says we're going to take our time to replace Obamacare," McCaughey, a health policy expert and former New York state lieutenant governor, told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "They really need to do it now.
"The American people demand it," she added. "They don't want to pay these high premiums and outrageous penalties anymore."
Further, "insurance companies are heading for the exits knowing that this law is going to be dead soon — and why should they continue to incur billions of dollars per year in losses?
"Americans are rightly worried," McCaughey said, "rightly angry that members of Congress have their outrageous premiums subsidized by the taxpayer.
"They're not feeling the pain the way the rest of us are."

Reagan, the eldest son of former President Ronald Reagan, told Hayworth that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell "right now has got to prove his toughness.
"He cannot sit there and say: 'Let's all be friendly. Can we all get along now?
"This is not about getting along so much as it is repealing and replacing Obamacare," Reagan said.
"He's going to have to take a standard against [New York Sen. Chuck] Schumer and the Democrats to get it done — and if it's through reconciliation, so be it."
