Michael Reagan on a Hillary Win: I Don't Want Another Nixon Moment

By    |   Friday, 28 October 2016 04:09 PM EDT

Political commentator Michael Reagan addressed the ongoing saga involving Hillary Clinton's email Friday, saying America does not need another Richard Nixon moment in terms of having an acting president step down.

During an appearance on "The Steve Malzberg Show," Reagan said the FBI's decision to reopen its Clinton case should be yet another clue that voters should choose Republican Donald Trump on election day instead of Clinton.

"I lived through the Nixon years, I saw a president have to step down from being the president of the United States of America, the last thing I need to see is another president elected who is being investigated and then is found to have done something terribly wrong, commit a hell of a crime, and again have to step down as president of the United States of America," Reagan said.

"The country better wake up to what's going on here. As I said, Donald Trump may be a lot of things and you'd be absolutely right to think about Donald Trump what you think of Donald Trump. One thing he is not, he is not a criminal."

Reagan added that Trump needs to continue talking about Clinton's email scandal and also his policy ideas on the campaign trail. If he doesn't, he could lose the Nov. 8 election.
