Heritage Foundation Chief Economist Stephen Moore on Tuesday predicted on Newsmax TV a second Great Depression if presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden wins in November.
Moore’s comments to guest host Tom Basile on “The Chris Salcedo Show” came in the context of a discussion on potential fraud with a push by Democrats to have large-scale mail-in voting to limit social interactions and thus the spread of the novel coronavirus.
“Look, Biden is bad for the markets. He’s bad for the economy,” Moore said. “So, if you have voter fraud that pushes him over the top, you’re talking about, I’ve said this before, if Biden wins the election, we’re going to have a Great Depression. I think that’s how scary his economic agenda is.”
Moore, who has been an adviser to President Donald Trump and in 2018 co-authored “Trumponomics: Inside the America First Plan to Revive Our Economy,” agreed with Basile’s assertion that Democrats favor economic upheaval to defeat Trump this autumn.
“That is what we’re up against,” Moore said. “I call it Operation Chaos. And it’s just beginning. You’re going to see the chaos and mayhem, riots, all sorts of activities. And then, of course, they blame the mayhem and chaos on Trump. Folks, they are the chaos. They are the ones that are rioting. They are the ones who insist on shutting down the economy.”
“I don’t know what’s coming next, but I guarantee it will be chaos and mayhem.”
