"Every time he notches a win on the scoreboard for Donald Trump, it takes away from air time or their ability to find a narrative that Trump's campaign — not President Trump, but Trump's campaign — colluded with the Russians," Bolling told "Newsmax Now" host John Bachman.
"When that started to fall apart, they said, 'Well, let's talk about this Stormy Daniels thing.'
"At the end of the day, does the Stormy Daniels thing really matter to anyone?" he asked. "Probably not.
"What matters is the economy — it's doing great — and things like this, where a dictator who … has missiles that could not only reach California, but New York.
"He was willing to use them and threaten us until we started leaning on him," Bolling said.
"We have a president who said: 'Nope. We're gonna check you right there, Mr. Kim Jong Un' — and he starts handing over hostages, bargaining chips.
"He's really rolled over," the author told Bachman. "Iran's the next to roll.
"Like him or not, Donald Trump has made us safer, wealthier and more prosperous — which are really the only two jobs of a president."
